The machine has five covers on the back for expansion cards. Two of them slide out and three seem to be solid. I need to open the back cover to insert a PCi express USB 3.0 card, but it doesn't seem to be removable. Is there a trick to open this cover? The slot I want to open is shown with a red arrow. Extend or remove the server from the rack. Remove the access panel. Disconnect any external cables that are connected to the expansion board. Disconnect any internal cables that are connected to the expansion board. Remove the PCIe riser cage. Remove the expansion slot blank. To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.

I've dealt with many electricians both residential and industrial. If
one of them did not check when the breaker was marked 'spare' he'd not
be working for me. Every single time they would take the cover off
and check inside. We have one panel that has 20 spares now than
everything used by the previous owner moved out. Our insurance
inspector notices in about 5 seconds so I imagine a good electrician
would be as quick.

Computer Expansion Slots Types

I own a Gateway DX4300-11 Desktop tower. I am trying to add an additional soundcard into one of the 2 available PCI slots on the tower. I have opened the PC and checked out the slots, but am unable to remove the slot covers from the empty slots. There is a clasp which covers the 4 slots, which I have removed.
There are no screws holding in the slot covers (though there are holes for screws for expansion)--there is no 'slide release' or any type of release mechanism that I can see. It is almost impossible to see the bottom of the slot covers as the motherboard is practically flush with the back of the case.
Gateway's manual for this PC does not cover this. I have chatted with one of their techs, whose database does not cover this issue, so they want me to pay for their phone line. I have done this on other PC's before with no problem. Can anyone give me any information on removing these covers in cases where screws are not involved? I greatly appreciate any help anyone can provide, this is driving me nuts! Thanks again.
